Colin O’Neill
Colin has been an avid user of 2020 Design for over 25 years. In fact, he left a career in the IT field after being introduced to 2020 and has never looked back. He began his career designing kitchens and baths for a design/build firm, giving him a strong foundation in the kitchen & bath industry, and went on to retail showroom sales and even owning his own design studio for a few years. Over a year ago, he set out to reinvent himself, focusing more on freelance design and one-on-one business- and 2020 coaching. Along with 11 other design professionals, he has been a member of the 2020 Design Advisory Council since its inception in 2019.
Karen Hockley, CMKBD, CAPS
Designers often tell Karen they would like to be able to download her knowledge of the kitchen and bath industry. With her writing, blogging and courses, her goal is to do just that.
Karen is the moderator of three Facebook kitchen and bath design groups, where her goal is to help designers reach whatever pinnacle they can to achieve their dreams. In recent years, she has spent time creating material and writing, including a course on kitchen ventilation basics, which she then turned into a blog, Exciting Range Hood Options for Gas Ranges and the course, Selling for Designers.
Karen gained her knowledge of the kitchen and bath industry by going to every in-person NKBA course available. She took classes from industry icon Ellen Cheever, as well. Many of the companies she worked for had extensive knowledge-base training for cabinetry, countertops, faucets and bath products, and she absorbed it all.
Karen was the recipient of the KBDN Innovator Award in 2021
and is a Certified Master Kitchen & Bath Designer with the National Kitchen & Bath Association
